We drove below Davis, past “Mountain Made”, parked and hiked about 1.5 miles along river to this amazing Douglas Falls. Must be about a 30′ drop - impressive- and you can hike to close under the fall.

We went for a hike on Sunday morning - drove from Thomas down past “Mountain Made” store and about another half mile, parked and walked the trail along the river. About a mile below Thomas we saw these coke ovens - bee-hive shaped brick caves - dozens and dozens in a row!

Presidents Day weekend 08- not great snow - so after hiking, plenty of time for ping pong and scrabble. The round dining table is ideal for such a big game!

About 2 hours from Timberline Ski hill top, we reached Red Creek, had picnic, then returned. Beautiful hike - thanks Chip!

Randy and I had a fun excursion - one way lift ride to the top of Timberline, down Salmander a few minutes to a turn off to hike round-trip into Dolly Sods. On returning we skiied down to the lodge. The slope is gradual, but with our beater XC gear, it required all of our considerable skiing skills(!)
