There will be two 2-year olds, and I was wondering if you had any suggestions as to hikes that we could take the little ones on? Thanks again!

Hi Laura –

Thanks for asking. Ilam House is completely outfitted with linens and towels – and all beds will be made for you. You might bring you own beach towels if you intend to head to a pool (Canaan Valley State Park) or swim in a swimming hole somewhere.

The kitchen is large and suitable for cooking up a storm, and fully equipped with cooking and eating gear for 10 people.

There is a small fire ring about 20 feet off the back deck which you are free to use. Please keep the fires small – ie flames less than 2 feet off the ground – as this is amidst trees and close to the house.

You can gather (small) firewood in the woods in front of the house – please gather the firewood in the area in *front* of the front door, not around the fire ring area. Please only gather wood that is already on the ground (ie do not cut anything down.) You can buy firewood at the large grocery store in Davis.

There is a charcoal grill in the garage you are free to use.

I will be spending a week vacationing at Ilam house, and am wondering what necessities I will need to pack (i.e. bath/bed linens, pots & pans, etc). I was also wondering if there is a spot to have a bonfire outside, and if so, is there wood provided? Any help to make our trip a better one would be greatly appreciated!
