At end of Allegheny Trail ski – starting at Canaan Heights, and then skiing south 8 miles to Canaan Valley State Park. It was Presidents’ Day 2007, and we had a snow storm dump about a foot of snow on us that day – wonderful!
The house is still open some weekends in March – and great snow conditions at Whitegrass, Timberline and Canaan Valley! House sleeps 12! Click here to read about renting the house and to see when the house is available.
Ilam House is on the ridge line of Canaan Mountain at about 3700 feet, and gets more snow (and more dependable snow cover) than areas down in the heart of Canaan Valley.

Walk about 80 feet to north from front door, and along old Forest Service road find some nice blueberries in July and August! And many many more along Canaan Loop road.
