The house is adjacent to the Monongahela National Forest for cross-country skiers who want to strike out on their own (see above picture!). The house is also about five miles from Whitegrass Cross Country ski center – one of our favorite places on the planet, and also Timberline downhill skiing, and Canaan Valley downhill skiing. [...] The good folks at Whitegrass are preparing their cross country trails (www.whitegrass.com) – and the XC skiing is generally good from Christmas through the end of March. Downhill skiiing at Canaan Valley and Timberline is often good from mid-December through April 1. (more info) [...]
