Blackwater Falls State Park: there is a nice cafe there for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We often stop when making a ski or bike trip to or around the State Park.

SKIING

XC skiing

Whitegrass Cross Country Ski Center – is the most hip and healthy place to be in Canaan Valley during the XC ski season from December to March. They will get you out onto XC skis with infectious enthusiasm, and they have 50kms of great trails, from easy loops on the flats, to climbing 1,500 feet to Bald Knob and awesome views!

-If there is enough snow around Ilam House, just head out the door, down Canaan Loop road, and explore the trails in the National Forest!
